Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Maurice, seigneur de la Barillière et Catherine de Rochereul, père et mère de Marguerite, fille d'honneur de la reine de Sicile, mariée en 1414 à Pierre Pantin, seigneur de la Hamelinière. Etienne, premier panetier de la duchesse Marguerite et Isabeau la Bigaude sa femme, première demoiselle de ladite duchesse, eurent leur terre du Plessix franchie en 1460; Claude, seigneur de Villy, marié en 1498 à Françoise Coubert; Jean, seigneur des Moulins, petit-fils des précédents, gendarme des ordonnances du marquis de Coëtquen, partage noblement en 1590 et s'établit en Bretagne, où il épousa Gillette Bardoul, de la maison de Closneuf, paroisse de Caulnes. Autre branche de cette famille: Jean, châtelain de Morlaix en 1306; Olivier, prête serment au duc entre les nobles de Moncontour en 1437. Les seigneurs de Kernault, paroisse d'Allineuc, du Quélineuc et de Kerigant, paroisse du Bodéo, de Cléhunault, paroisse de Saint-Martin-des-Prés et de Bodéléac, paroisse de Saint-Gildas, de même nom et armes, remontent à Jacques, époux en 1545 de Jeanne Jégou.
