La famiglia appartiene al Patriziato di Faenza da epoca remotissima, come ne fanno fede i documenti della città, nei quali se ne trovano frequentemente nominati i personaggi. Al principio del 1300 essi facevano parte del Consiglio Generale del Comune, e quindi ebbe dei membri investiti delle principali magistrature della città, da prima come Anziani, preposti all'amministrazione del Comune, poi come Centurioni dei "Cento nobili della Città di Faenza" e cioè di quella particolare magistratura che la città costituì fra le proprie fam. più nobili, per affidarle, dal principio del 500 fini alla fine del sec. XVIII, la tutela dell'ordine. Un lodo arbitrale Elice dimostra che anche a quella zona si estendevano i beni e possessi famigliari. Oltre ai personaggi che si dedicarono all'amministrazione della cosa pubblica, la storia di Faenza ne novera altri che si distinsero nella difesa della patria con le armi. Così Fabio il quale nel 1527 morì
