Uma família distinta originária da Espanha passou para Alfonso I de Aragão, no reino de Nápoles, onde, desde então, ocupou altos cargos e possuía grandes estados feudais, como o Marquisado de Vasto e o condado de Potenza. Foi recebida na Ordem Gerosolimitano a partir de 1551. Foi herdada decorada pelo escritório do Grande Siniscalco do Reino, agregada ao patrocínio napolitano na Sede do Ninho e atribuída ao Livro Dourado. Concedido os títulos de Duque de Bovino a partir de 1575, conde de Savignano a partir de 1700, e por sucessão da família Suardo o título de Duque de Castellairola com antiguidade desde 1638. Disse títulos, por sucessão de Maddalena Guevara, n. 1846, dez. em 1897, filha do duque Giovan Battista e da duquesa Carolina Filangieri, casada em 30 de setembro de 1871 com o barão de Crecchio Luigi de Riseis, eles passaram para a segunda família legalmente reconhecida na posse
