Cette famille a figuré dans les assemblées de la Noblesse du Périgord aux États-Généraux de 1789. On y voit ainsi inscrit: " Messire Noël-André, écuyer, seigneur de la Beneichie et de Lalis, alors lieutenant-colonel au régiment de dragons de Chartres, lequel vota pour les députés de l'Ordre en son nom personnel et comme fondé de pouvoir de sa belle-sœur, dame Thérèse-Martin de Compreignac, veuve de messire de Guilhem, écuyer, signeur de la Gondie, de Liauron, de Beaugibaud, de la Reille et de la Merleterie". Noël-André, lieutenant-général des armées du roi, en recompense de ses services, reçut le titre de comte, trasmissible à ses descendants légitimes, de mâle en mâle, par l'ordre de primogéniture, le 17 mars 1817. Parmi les derniers représentants de cette famille on trouve le comte Joseph de la Gondie, colonel d'état-major, officier de la Légion-d'Honneur, résidant naguère à Paris.
