Originaria di Zurigo, ed appellata Arnoldi di Quistello, era da lunga pezza stabilita in Mirandola quando l'Imperat. Sigismondo con diploma 25 Feb. 1432 l'arricchì d'insigni privilegi. Un Alfonso Quistelli fu uditore della Camera e capo della Consulta del Granduca di Toscana Cosimo I, ed il di lui figlio Pomponio nel 1562 vestì l'abito dei cavalieri di S. Stefano. L'ultimo maschio di questa casa fu Orazio del cav. Fulvio morto nel 1655, e la famiglia si estinse totalmente con Francesca moglie del conte Giuseppe Masetti morta nel 1703. Tali sono i principii, che da sopracitati Autori si diedero a questa famiglia, ma per esser questo fatto assai remoto, e d'historia molto lontana, lasciamo perciò a più eruditi delle sacre antichità, e dell'historie l'investigarne il suo certo principio.
