Este linaje desciende de Don Nuño Pérez de G. el Bueno, hijo de Don Pedro Ruiz de G., nieto de Don Ruy Nuñez, y por tanto sobrino de Don Felix Ruiz de G. y primo-hermano de Santo Domingo. Don Nuño Pérez se distinguió en la batalla de las Navas y en la conquista de Baeza; y el rey Don Alonso el Sabio dió a sus descendientes un gran repartimiento en Sevilla, que se llamó de G. Don Juan de G. el Bueno, séptimo sucesor de Don Nuño, casó en el año 1369 con Doña María de Castilla, hija del infante Don Fadrique, la cual llevó en dote varias villas y el condado de Niebla. Mas tarde casó con Doña Beatriz de Castilla, hija del rey Don Enrique II, y por este entronque con la casa real añadió a sus armas los castillos y leones reales en bordura. De este linaje
