Ancient and noble Swiss family, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries, with a main branch in the United States of America. Originally from Hofstetten, in the Canton Solothurn, where it was ennobled, branches of the same family also flourished in the canton of Aargau and of Basel-Country. The first references to this family date back to XIV century when a Kunigunde Haberthür was living in Hofstetten in the year 1493. Later, in the year 1515, we find a Elsbeth Haberthür, flourishing in Basel. Landowners, the members of this House have always held high offices in the country. Furthermore, according to precious family memories, the Haberthür family also had a baronial title. As already mention, this House, in all ages, always stood out thanks to the prominent figures, which gave birth, in the public service, in the liberal and ecclesiastical professions and in the military
