Se cree que fue traído de España a Trapani por un Francesco y un Diego en el siglo XVI. Un Isidoro la llevó al Monte San Giuliano. A Francesco, doctor en derecho, adquirió el título de Conde Carrera, del cual obtuvo investidura el 19 de noviembre de 1785 y fue conservador en Monte San Giuliano en los años 1791, 1793, 1798, 1800, 1806; un Niccolò juró en Caltagirone en 1787-88; Alberto Hernández y Sieripepoli fueron conservadores en Monte San Giuliano, 1810.
