Ancient and noble German family, of clear and ancestral virtue, known as Heydrich or Heidrich, a branch of which moved to Cuba in the XIX century with Fernando Heydrich of Wuppertal (January 26, 1827 – April 1, 1903), businessman, politician, engineer and sculptor. He married Maria-Candelaria Martínez y Valdez who gave him Alfredo Heydrich, American Consul, and Emilio Heydrich Martínez (Cuba 1861 – Barcelona 1947), entrepreneur, merchant and landowner. Emilio married Antonia Cubero y Casals who gave him Aida Heydrich, wife of the President of the Manufacturers of Cigars and Cigarettes of Cuba Theodore Garbade. The origin of this illustrious House date back to the XIV century with a Mathis Heidenreich (1372 or 1397) from Liegnitz. Later we find a Peter Heidenreich (1453) and a Vitus Heydenreich (1494), both from Görlitz. According to tradition, however, the Heydrichs of Germany, with their relative surname variations, descend from the Hungarian gens Héder
