Antigua y noble familia italiana, de clara y ancestral virtud, que se ha extendido por todo el mundo, a lo largo de los siglos. Originaria de Iglesias (Cerdeña), en la segunda mitad del siglo XVI la familia se escindió en tres ramas. El Dr. Michelangelo, abogado fiscal, se mudó a Cagliari y se casó con Aymerich; su hijo Antíoco fue juez de la Real Audiencia y, en 1599, obtuvo el título de caballero hereditario y la nobleza. Sus descendientes fueron admitidos a la condición de militar en 1624, durante las Cortes de Vivas. Una segunda rama, que quedó en Iglesias, a principios del siglo XVIII se trasladó a Cagliari, donde en 1736, el Dr. Antonio, abogado patrimonial, obtuvo el título de caballero y nobleza hereditarios. Su hijo Saturnino, también abogado patrimonial, obtuvo el título de conde de Isola Maggiore. Una tercera rama, en el siglo XVII, se trasladó a Sulmona,
