La nobile famiglia Planca, ebbe un tempo il cognome Incoronati. Da Coronato Planca, celeberrimo giureconsulto che tramandò poi ai suoi il suo pronome, Marco Planca denominossi Incoronati e come tale fu Conservatore di Roma nel 1680 e priore de'Caporioni nel 1683; Paolo priore de'medesimi nel 1682; Nicola lo fu nel 1722; Volfango nel 1750 e Conservatore di Roma nel 1766 e 1769. Urbem Romam. Famiglia assai antica e nobile. Annovera questa illustre casata personaggi di elevate virtù. Tra gl'antichi Cavalieri che anticamente nella militar disciplina fiorirono. Fu costume delle più antiche famiglie, le quali dopo la caduta del Romano Imperio, in quella inondatione de' Barbari, havendo i loro cognomi, sicome gli studi, e altre cose belle smarrito e restati solo con semplici nomi, trarre di nuovo i loro cognomi, e il loro casato da' nomi propri paterni, e de' maggiori. Tali sono i principii, che da sopracitati Autori si diedero
