Ancient and illustrious family, originally from Trentino and with residence in the city of Trento, whose blazon is reported, by the commendatore GB of Crollalanza, in the volumes of his "Historical-Blazon Dictionary". The origin of this cognomination, to say the least of illustrious genealogists, should be sought in the medieval name "Ioppo", which probably belonged to a now unknown progenitor. Belonging to the patriciate of their own land, to such a family, who illustrated himself with that Job, chancellor of the Municipality of Trento in 1577, belonged to the portal of the same name, or a low arch door, which opens onto the Piazzetta di Lavariano, built in 1600. Furthermore, this family, in every age, always distinguished itself for the elevated characters, to which it gave birth. Among these, we remember: Saverio, doctor in both laws, living in Trento, in 1543; Happy, familiar and courtly adviser, of Emperor Ferdinand I;
