Antica ed assai nobile famiglia di Aitino, conosciuta come d'Aura, Auria, Orio o Jorio, a seconda di come è stata anagraficamente trascritta nel corso dei tempi, la quale si trapiantò nelle venete lagune al tempo di Attila e che fin dal 1297, dal numero delle ottimate, fu compresa fra le patrizie. Dette alla patria molti senatori, elettori di dogi ed altri illustri personaggi, fra cui Orio, ambasciatore nel 1136-37 all'Imperatore Lotario e poi nel 1172-73 a Guglielmo, Re di Sicilia; Filippo, podestà e capitano di Treviso nel 1344; Lorenzo, ambasciatore nel 1518 a Lodovico II Re d'Ungheria; Domenico, Consigliere alla Canea nel 1591, al tempo della famosa pestilenza, poi provveditore e castellano a Grabusso nel 1600 ed a Cerico nel 1607; Antonio, capitano di Sebenico dal 1759 al 1761. Con sovrana risoluzione 1 Dicembre 1817, la famiglia fu confermata nella sua antica nobiltà. Altro ramo. Famiglia campana, originaria di Montecorvino
