The chronology of the G. (de Julia) family is much scarce of voices, and on 18 June 1217 the provost of the Church of Tortona accused, in the person of Ambrogio de Julia, a plot of land; Pietro is witness in deeds of February 2, 1231 with which said provost accuses third parties in Tortona territory; Ottobono (Zulio) councilor participates in the session of 6 May 1278 with which the municipality of Tortona confers citizenship to the men of Viguzzolo. Calpucio Zulia seems to have captained the Tortonese militia when on February 9, 1322 the city was occupied by Raimondo di Cardona, pontifical general and ally of the King of Naples Roberto d'Angiò, at the head of 500 horses and the escaped Tortonese of the Guelph party; then it passed to the service of the Marquis of Monferrato; according to Carnival, the G. family still existed in Tortona, in 1456
