A cronologia da família G. (de Julia) é muito escassa de vozes e, em 18 de junho de 1217, o reitor da Igreja de Tortona acusou, na pessoa de Ambrogio de Julia, um terreno; Pietro é testemunha de atos de 2 de fevereiro de 1231 com os quais o referido reitor acusa terceiros no território de Tortona; O conselheiro de Ottobono (Zulio) participa da sessão de 6 de maio de 1278, com a qual o município de Tortona confere cidadania aos homens de Viguzzolo. Calpucio Zulia parece ter sido o capitão da milícia tortonense quando, em 9 de fevereiro de 1322, a cidade foi ocupada por Raimondo di Cardona, pontifício general e aliado do rei de Nápoles Roberto d'Angiò, à frente de 500 cavalos e dos tortonenses que escaparam do partido Guelph; depois passou ao serviço do marquês de Monferrato; de acordo com o Carnaval, a família G. ainda existia
