Bourgeoisie issue de Jean Jurie, bourgeois de Clamoux, en Auvergne, qui transige le 28 mars 1542, avec noble Hilaire de Pélacot, seigneur de la Rousse. Son petit-fils était honorable homme, Maistre Antoine Jurie, au profit duquel deux habitants de Jumeaux constituent, le 20 juin 1602, une rente féodale. Il est dit père de messire Pierre Jurie, chanoine de N.-D. du Puy (1620) et de Jean, vivant à la même époque qui fut l'aïeul d'Antoine Jurie, seigneur de Vergongheon (1680-1732), bailli de Mailhat, de la Montgie et de Rilhac, marié à demoiselle de la Chau. D'autres membres de cette famille ont exercé pendant plusieurs générations, la charge de bailli de la baronnie et prévôté royale d'Auzon et des terres de Ste-Florine, Rilhac et la Roche-Vernassal. Deux commissaires des guerres à la fin du XVIIIème siècle (1792-1800).
