Família antiga e ilustre, cujas origens estão envoltas em trevas e lendas. De acordo com o que foi transmitido, ele encontra seu berço na Polônia, de onde se ramificou também para a Áustria e a Rússia, e se espalhou pelo mundo, ao longo dos séculos.
