Família alemã, descendente de Nicolau K., natural de Hamburgo, e de sua mulher, Emerência Crochman, de que foi filho Cristiano K., nascido em Hamburgo aos 27 de Agosto de 1693. Este veio para Portugal e foi cônsul daquela cidade e das outras da Liga Hanseática no porto, onde morreu a 31 de Outubro de 1759. Casara a 22 de Março de 1731 com D. Doroteia Moring Whittingham, nascida em 21 de Dezembro de 1708 e falecida aos 24 de Março de 1759, filha de João Moring, natural de Gueldria, na Holanda, e de sua mulher, D. Doroteia Inácia Whittingham, neta paterna de Jácomo Moring, e de sua mulher, Mariana van Zeller, e materna de Henry Whittingham, morador na cidade do Porto, e de sua mulher, D. Doroteia Maynarda de Silva. Do casamento de Cristiano K. com D. Doroteia Moring Whittingham nasceram vários filhos, que seguiram o apelido paterno. Timbre: um crescente do escudo, encimado por uma estrela de prata.
