Ancienne et noble famille allemande, de vertu claire et ancestrale, connue sous le nom de Krämer ou Kraemer, qui s'est répandue dans le monde entier, au cours des siècles. Selon ce qui a été transmis, cette famille, en récompense de précieux services rendus à Charles IV, empereur du Saint Empire romain germanique, a été admise au "Briefadel" (lit. "lettre de noblesse"), la soi-disant nouvelle noblesse comme opposé à " Uradel ", terme inventé seulement à l'époque moderne, en référence aux familles nobles dont la lignée ancestrale remonte à avant le Moyen Âge. Originaire d'Ahrensburg, aujourd'hui ville du district de Stormarn, Schleswig-Holstein, cette maison noble fut divisée en plusieurs branches qui s'établirent en Bavière, en Hesse et dans d'autres régions d'Allemagne ainsi qu'en Suède, en Norvège et en Finlande. Nikolaus Krämer, fils de Kaspar Krämer, fonctionnaire à Ahrensburg, s'installe en effet en Suède où il reçoit la noblesse suédoise en vertu
