Famiglia nobile milanese propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Imparentata coi Gabrini ebbe frequente dimora in Traffiume, ove nacquero: nel 1579 un Giovan-Donato, che fu notaro e causidico collegiato di Milano; un Giovanni parimenti notaio e causidico, il quale con istrumento 1° Feb. 1645 fondò e dotò la cappellania di S. Giovan-Battista nella parrocchia di Traffiume, con padronato per la sua discendenza. Altro ramo. Famiglia romana di origine lombarda di antica e nobile tradizione. Questa famiglia, a dir dell'Amayden, era sicuramente comprese tra quelle raccolte nel Libro d'oro del Campidoglio. Altro ramo. famiglia Spagnola assai antica e nobile, detta Marca o La Marca, propagata anche nel regno di Napoli ai tempi del Viceregno.
