Very old lineage of Aragon, which had its primitive solar in the place of Tramacastilla de Tena, of the Tena valley, judicial party of Jaca and province of Huesca. Doctor Juan Antonio Lope de la C., in his Discourses on the principles of the kingdom of Aragon, finds the ancestry of the C. or La C. o Lacasa family in the dukes of Vasconia, and deduces that the trunk of the Tramacastilla probably arose from Centullo, viscount of Bearne, to whom his second cousin, King Don Sancho Abarca, gave states in the kingdom of Aragon. Other authors add that the aforementioned viscount was called Centullo Lope and that he had his main lordships in the Tena valley, where the Casa, as his descendants, also owned the lordship of the Ports of Izas since time immemorial, since it is to be taken into account that those Houses were surnamed López at first, and that this patronymic of the viscount, his predecessor, later joined the surname "de la C.", to denote that they came from the main house of Centullo Lope, for which they continued to be called " López de la C. " and after "C." only, without the patronymic of its parent. Other lines of this surname passed to Catalonia, and were established there. Others spread throughout Castilla.
