Ancient and illustrious family, ascribed to the seat of the nobles of the city of Taverna, which, since time immemorial, has been awarded the baronial title. It was divided into two branches, one residing in Laureana di Borrello, which added the surname Argirò, and the other residing in Mileto, where it counted among the noble and feudal families of Mileto, having a feudal land "in several members" , in the Barletta district. As such, on the other hand, the family is named among the barons in Mileto's cadastre of uncia, at folio 43. The first character of the family, of which we have news, is an Ottavio Lacquaniti, flourishing, together with his wife Caterina d'Aprile, at the dawn of the seventeenth century, who, in 1634, was mayor of the nobles of the city of Mileto.
