Famiglia originaria dell'Asturia, detta Ladisa o, più anticamente, Ladislao, di avita nobiltà, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia con insediamenti più cospicui in Puglia. La cognominizzazione originale, Ladislao, è ritenuta una patronimia da un capostipite, di origini slave di cui, purtroppo, non vi sono documenti ufficiali. Le prime vestigia del casato rinviano al 1221 e, in particolare, alla celebrazione per la posa della prima pietra della Cattedrale di Burgos, da parte di D. Ferdinando il Santos, dal momento che, tra i cavalieri che costui accompagnarono, risultano, proprio, alcuni membri della famiglia Ladisa. Similmente, notizia di alcuni Ladisa, in qualità di membri della flotta di D. Francisco de Luxan o Lujan, relativamente alla sconfitta, nel 1567, di John Hawkins, a San Juan de Ulua. In Italia e, in particolare, nel territorio pugliese, i nomi dei membri della famiglia Ladisa si trovano, di sovente, menzionati in documenti ed atti
