Es war eine sehr klare und mächtige pisanische Familie, ein Teil von Ghibelline, die von Can Grande I della Scala bevorzugt und von Castruccio Castracane, dem Lord von Pisa, verfolgt wurde, für die er 1316 nach Verona floh. Andere Lafranchi kamen im fünfzehnten Jahrhundert aus Piacenza in diese Stadt, andere aus den Genuesen und von diesen war der erste, der 1517 dem Adelsrat von Verona zugeschrieben wurde, Pietro-Leonardo, der seine Nachkommen vermehrte, die von den primären städtischen Ämtern geehrt wurden.
