Cognome molto antico in Portogallo, in Galizia e sul monte Santander. Alcuni scrittori affermano che in Galizia avesse case nei luoghi di Macide e Cadeira. Ma il primo che non abbiamo trovato nei dizionari geografici della nostra interrogazione, e con il nome del secondo c'è una città e una parrocchia nel distretto giudiziario di Ortigueira, nella provincia della Corunna, e un'altra parrocchia nel distretto giudiziario di Redondela , dalla provincia di Pontevedra. Don Juan Francisco de Hita afferma che quelli con il cognome in questione provengono dalla famiglia Lacos, molto vecchia, e che a causa della corruzione della parola hanno iniziato a essere chiamati L. afferma anche il commerciante ripetuto che passò nella provincia di Toledo, stabilendosi in un luogo che chiama Brisco, vicino alla città di Illescas, e che Pedro de L. proveniva da quella famiglia, che sposò María de la Somora, nata da questa unione Pedro de L.
