Antigua y noble familia del Reino de las Dos Sicilias, de clara y ancestral virtud, que se ha extendido por todo el mundo, a lo largo de los siglos. Según se ha transmitido, su progenitor es un fray Leone, caballero de Jerusalén, embajador ante el rey de Túnez en el siglo XVI. Sin embargo, según algunos, los Lamanna del sur de Italia descienden de los Manna de Lombardía, florecientes en Cremona desde 1037 y adscritos a ese decurionato cívico en 1134. Lo cierto es que, durante mucho tiempo, la residencia principal de la noble familia Lamanna ha sido la ciudad de Scigliano, en el área de Cosenza, en Calabria, y su palacio noble estaba ubicado en el distrito de Calvisi.
