Originarios de Casteldaldo, la tierra del campo de Reggio Emilia, los Lanci se mudaron a Vicenza, desde donde terminaron instalándose en Reggio alrededor de 1300, donde se aliaron con la facción Bebbi contra las facciones Zoboli y Scaioli. No se han recibido más noticias de la familia desde el siglo XIX. Otra rama Antigua y noble familia de Emilia Romagna, con residencia en la ciudad de Bolonia.
