La familia Landriani es una de las más antiguas e ilustres de Milán. La mención más antigua es en un acto de donación al monasterio de S. Ambrogio en Milán en el año 1053, en el cual los hermanos Guido y Adalberto intervienen como textos. Guido mismo aparece entre los defensores de Enrique IV reunidos en Verona en 1077; y Guglielmo fue jefe de los nobles contra Ertembaldo defensor del pueblo en 1061. Otro Guido en 1176 ocupó el cargo de rector de la liga Lombard, en 1183 representando el municipio de Milán, primero firmó la paz de Constanza con el emperador Federico, y en 1205 fue cónsul del municipio. El mismo fue el alcalde de Ferrara en 1179. Arrigo fue cónsul de justicia en 1155; Uberto rector de la Liga en 1175; Cónsul de Lantelmo de justicia en 1199 y cónsul del municipio en 1202, Barbezoto, embajador del municipio
