Si disse anche di questa famiglia e forse con più verosimiglianza che di altra che fosse discesa in Italia con Ottone I. Certo è che fino al sec. XI si trovava aver avuto lustro e potenza in Pisa. Fu questa gente anche assai prolifica tanto che si divise in molte casate: dei Chiccoli, dei Rossi, dei Pellai, dei Gualterotti, dei Maleppi, degli Zeni, dei Mangianti, dei Sossi, dei Maccaroni. Un ramo di essa si stabilì in Napoli. Nel 1053 è rammentato nelle storie di Pisa un Raimondo di Giovanni, il cui figlio Albizzone si segnalò nel 115 nell'impresa delle Baleari. Furono arcivescovi di quella città nel 1125, Uberto della Ratta, cardinale; nel 1152 Ubaldo, il quale si adoperò a sedare le discordie civili e trattò una tregua fra Pisa e Genova; nel 1173 un altro Ubaldo, nipote del primo che comandò l'armata Pisana nella crociata del 1187 e

Troncato di rosso e d'argento. Blasone della famiglia Lanfranchi CHiccoli da Pisa; Firenze, Santo Spirito, Ferza e Firenze, San Giovanni, Lion d'oro. Famiglia di Pisa, forse con origine comune con le famiglie dei fasc. 2675 e 2676, distintesi ab antiquo con l'aggiunta del secondo cognome. Gualterotto Lanfranchi, cavaliere pisano al soldo di Firenze, ottenne la cittadinanza fiorentina nel 1362. Giuseppe, Ruggero e Pier Francesco di Girolamo Lanfranchi Chiccoli di Pisa ottennero la cittadinanza fiorentina nel 1658, essendo stata riconosciuta la loro appartenenza alla famiglia fiorentina.
