Ancient and very noble Oriunda family from Pisa called Lafranco or Lanfranco was very clear and powerful, part of Ghibelline, favored by Can Grande I della Scala and persecuted by Castruccio Castracane lord of Pisa, for which he fled to Verona in 1316. Some Lafranchi came to this city from Piacenza, others from Genoa in the fifteenth century, and of these the first who in 1517 was ascribed to the noble Council of Verona was Pietro-Leonardo, who propagated his descent there who was honored by the primary municipal offices. Weapon: Blue, with a silver band, three stars placed on the pole of one another. Alias: D'azzurro, to a silver bird cupped and lined with red, placed on a green terrace.
