Antica ed assai nobile famiglia oriunda da Pisa detta Lafranco o Lanfranco fu chiarissima e potente, di parte ghibellina, favorita da Can Grande I della Scala e perseguitata da Castruccio Castracane signore di Pisa, per cui fuggì a Verona nel 1316. Alcuni Lafranchi vennero in questa città da Piacenza, altri da Genova nel XV secolo, e di questi il primo che nel 1517 venne ascritto al Consiglio nobile di Verona fu Pietro-Leonardo, il quale vi propagò la sua discendenza che fu onorata delle primarie cariche municipali. Arma: D'azzurro, alla banda d'argento, a tre stelle poste in palo dell'uno all'altro. Alias: D'azzurro, ad un uccello d'argento imbeccato e membrato di rosso, posto sopra una terrazza di verde.
