Very ancient Polish lineage, originally called Laski, which has been part of the royal clan of Korab since the Middle Ages, that is, one of the twelve noble Polish tribes, passed to England, where it kept its original cognomination, and in Italy, before the sixteenth century, where it was transcribed as Lasco. This family gave birth to very important churchmen, diplomats and supporters of humanism in Poland. Jan Laski (1455-1531) was a celebrated diplomat, who became great chancellor of the Kingdom, under King Aleksander Jagiellonczyk. He also served in the archbishop of Gniezno and headed the church in Poland. Expert in political and legal matters, he was the main proponent of the publication of the body of laws, known as the "Laskiego Statute". Jan Laski provided for the education of his three grandchildren: Hieronim (1496 - 1542), who played a fundamental political role in Poland; Stanislaw (ca. 1500 - 1550),
