Muy antiguo linaje polaco, originalmente llamado Laski, que ha sido parte del clan real de Korab desde la Edad Media, es decir, una de las doce tribus nobles polacas, pasó a Inglaterra, donde mantuvo su conocimiento original, y en Italia, antes del siglo XVI, donde fue transcrito como Lasco. Esta familia dio a luz a eclesiásticos, diplomáticos y partidarios del humanismo muy importantes en Polonia.
