Familia antigua y muy noble, en dirección a Oriunda Galluppi desde Castelnuovo di Scrivia, en dirección a Crollalanza oriunda desde Milán, pasó primero a residir en Génova y luego en Messina con un Gio. Batta, cuya nobleza se sumó a la nobleza en 1584. Había muchas personas famosas que nacieron de esta familia: un Simone era un notario del puerto de la ciudad de Catania; Andrea era juez de Marsala en 1492; un Giulio ocupó el cargo de jurado en esa ciudad en 1525 y fue el padre de Mario, quien pasó a Trapani donde fue senador en los años 1564-65-66; Giuseppe fue prefecto de Trapani; un Mario, con privilegio dado en Madrid el 14 de abril, ejecutado el 20 de julio de 1567, obtuvo el título de noble con el Don; un César fue juez pretoriano de Palermo en 1597-98; encontramos a Michele adscrita al noble maestro de Mollica;
