Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Jean, originaire de Condé-sur-Vire, anobli aux francs-fiefs en 1470; Gilles, épouse en 1524 Jeanne Corsin; deux procureurs des bourgeois de Rennes, en 1519 et 1557; trois chevaliers de l'ordre depuis 1572; quatre conseillers au parlement, depuis 1621; un abbé de Fontenay en 1611; puis de Bonne-Fontaine (Reims) et évêque de Tréguier, mort en 1635; un abbé de Landévennec en 1746, successivement évêque de Troyes en 1758 et d'Auxerre en 1761; un vicaire apostolique à Siam en 1701, mort en 1727; un abbé de Chantemerle au diocèse de Troyes en 1760, successivement évêque de Rodez, puis archevêque de Bordeaux en 1781, garde des sceaux en 1789 et archevêque d'Aix mort en 1810; un chef d'escadre de l'ordre de Saint-Lazare en 1667 et un chef d'escadre en 1784. La branche de Cicé fondue dans Berthou de Kerverzio; une autre branche fondue dans la Bintinaye.
