Famiglia originaria da Castrocaro. Il primo personaggio di cui si ha certa menzione è Girolamo, figlio di Bartolomeo, che nel 1449 è fra i consiglieri di Castrocaro; da questi nacque Francesco e da Francesco, Giovanni Battista, che sposò Virginia Claudia, di Romano Bourbon del Monte, ed ebbe vari figli, fra i quali Bartolomeo, che in prime nozze tolse in moglie Livia Baldinotti, ed in seconde Giovanna Cassandra Bianchi; egli morì nel 1599 lasciando dieci figli e fra questi Girolamo, n. il 15 agosto 1572, che nel 1612 sposò Paola, di Matteo Mervelli, dalla quale ebbe nove figli, dei quali lasciò discendenza solo Bartolomeo, n. nel 1615, sposatosi in prime nozze con Lucia, di Domenico Cherici, ed in seconde con Caterina, di Giovanni Vicchi; morì nel 1655, lasciando nove figli, fra i quali Giovanni Battista, n. l'11 maggio 1639, che dalla nobile Ginevra
