Questa famiglia risulta annoverata da tempo immemorabile tra quelle del patrizio di Tivoli. Costantino con la famiglia risulta iscritto nella tabella aurea del patrizio tiburtino compilata nel 1721, come pure in quella successiva del 1752. L'origine di questa famiglia si fa risalire al 1100, ma il primo personaggio di cui si ha certa notizia e dal quale si inizia l'albero genealogico documento ed ininterrotto fino ai giorni nostri è un certo Domenico che figura negli atti puriali del 1381. Francesco nel 1530 sostenne aspre querele contro il cardinal di Ferrera a causa della soppressione di ospedale e parrocchie che questi andava effettivamente per la costruzione di Villa d'Este. Costantino (1540) fu giudice sediale della città di Tivoli, indi Camerlengo e nel 1576 fondò in quella città una cattedra di giurisprudenza che diede valenti giureconsulti.
