Cette famille a occupé le prieuré de la République florentine dix-sept fois de l'année 1442 à 1521, et à l'époque de la Principauté, elle a été décorée de la dignité sénatoriale en la personne de Francesco, di Girolamo, célèbre comme homme d'État et comme jurisconsulte, et qui fut aussi ambassadeur résident chez le roi d'Espagne puis à l'Impériale. à Prague, où il mourut en 1594. Giuliano, de Noferio, étant dans la Signoria en 1494, fut décoré par Charles VIII de France comme ses collègues de la dignité chevaleresque, du privilège d'unir ses propres armes à celles du royaume de Jérusalem entre deux lis d'or sur le champ bleu. Note: Giuliano Lenzoni, priore nel 1494, fu fatto cavaliere dal re di Francia Carlo VIII, ed ebbe con i suoi colleghi il privilegio di apporre nello stemma le insegne del regno di Gerusalemme, addizionate da quelle del regno di Francia. Su un palazzo di piazza S.Croce, lo stemma si trova partito con l'arme dei Medici.
