Rubberto di Orvieto, nobile città d'Italia, servì molt'anni il Rè Pietro II, ed il Duca Giovanni di Randazzo, e di Noto, fratelli; da' quali hebbe alcun'anni il governo con titolo di Capitano delle città di Siragusa, e Noto, e fù conosciuto ne' suoi tempi per gentil'huomo assai virtuoso. La famiglia D. in Orvieto fù una delle antiche, che fiorirono in quella Repubblica; perciochè nel 1197 del Signore furono suoi Consoli Nicolò D., e Rainero di Macereto. Pier Luiggi D. fù uno de' principali della Città, e fù genero di Pepo Farnese; costui fù figlio di Grassi Deodato, e fratello di Toncello D., che fù Capitan d'Orvieto nel 1222. Giacomo D. fù genero di Isaco di Ponte Romano Podestà d'Orvieto, e molt'altri Cavalieri di questa famiglia in Italia si leggono. Giovanni D., figlio del predetto Rubberto, si casò in Siragusa con la figlia di Pietro Antonio Manuello, e procreò Nicolò, che
