Originaria di Montefiore, si stabilì in Cesena nel 1462. I primi di questa famiglia furono generali dell'armi dei principi Malatesta. Della suddetta stirpe non si hanno più notizie sin dal 1649. Altro ramo. Antica famiglia dell'Emilia Romagna con residenza nella città di Rimini. Ricordiamo un Accorso governatore di Rieti; Benedetto Olivetano letterato; Bilioro podestà di Rimini. Altra famiglia alzò per arma. D'oro, al monte di tre cime di verde movente dalla punta, accostato da due leoni affrontati di rosso, e sostenente un'asta cimata da un giglio d'azzurro; colla bordura spinata di rosso. Fu costume delle più antiche famiglie, le quali dopo la caduta del Romano Imperio, in quella inondatione de' Barbari, havendo i loro cognomi, sicome gli studi, e altre cose belle smarrito e restati solo con semplici nomi, trarre di nuovo i loro cognomi, e il loro casato da' nomi proprii paterni, e de' maggiori.
