Antigua y muy noble familia de Cupramontana (Ancona) pero originaria de Appignano di Osimo, quien reconoce como su progenitor un Iohannolus, que vivió en el siglo XV, que ejerció el poder judicial. Esta familia, en el desarrollo de su brillo, siempre ha logrado producir una serie de hombres que se hicieron ilustres, en empleos públicos, en profesiones liberales y eclesiásticas y en el servicio militar. Domenico, de Francesco, era doctor en derecho. Se graduó de la Universidad de Perugia. En 1551 podestà de Monte Olmo. En 1552 podestà de Monte Fano. Murió en 1554. Ludovico de Giammaria fue capitán de las milicias en 1596. Giuseppe di Giammaria obtuvo su doctorado en medicina y filosofía en 1584. Ejerció la magistratura cívica en casa y era médico en Massaccio. Francesco Maria di Giuseppe en 1614 se graduó en medicina y practicó con honor. Se erigió la capellanía de S. Maria della Misericordia
