Very ancient lineage, of Lombard origin, settled first in L'Aquila, to whose patriciate it was ascribed, and, after 1750, in Rome. Dec. 31 1209 in consulate Mediolani, being Consul Visconte de Reziolo, was together with his other colleagues pronounced sentence in the dispute brought by the Church of Monza to Filippo, Martino, Benedetto and Zanone, called Lepri, all of the place of Monguzzo to force them to pay sixty Terzuoli. Clement XIII, on July 31, 1766, conferred the title of marquis on Alessandro Lepri. Pius VI also gave the members of the Lepri family the title of marquis on the land of Rota, on February 3, 1789. The Roman patriciate was obtained, by the family, on April 23, 1843, in the person of Alexander from whom Giovanni, who married Giovanna of the patrician marquises Naro Montoro. D'azzurro, al lepre corrente su una campagna al naturale, sormontato da un'aquila spiegata di nero, sostenuta da una trangla abbassata di rosso. L'araldista Amayden scrive nella sua opera "La storia delle famiglie romane" che questa famiglia Lepri fu scritta anche Leporibus.

Blasone della famiglia Lepri o Leporibus (secondo l'araldista Amayden ndr) da Roma. Il blasone è ricostruito da un disegno del pittore Giovanni Rust inserito nel "Libro d'oro della nobiltà romana" conservato presso l'archivio capitolino di Roma.
