Família antiga e nobre de Milão, de clara e ancestral virtude, que se espalhou pelo mundo, ao longo dos séculos. Primeiramente a Casa mudou-se para L'Aquila, a cuja aristocracia foi atribuída, e depois, no final do século XVII, para Roma. A família recebeu o título de Marquês por Clemente XIII, na pessoa de Carlo-Ambrogio Lepri. Pio VI, por nota promissória de fevereiro de 1789, deu ao Marquês Giuseppe Ambrogio o título de Marquês de Rota. A aristocracia romana foi obtida pela família em 23 de abril de 1843, na pessoa de Alessandro, cujo filho Giovanni casou-se com Giovanna dos patrícios marquês Naro Montoro. Ele era seu filho Charles, que se casou com Maddalena Monaco Valletta. A Casa também está relacionada com outras famílias nobres como os Pallavicini, os Bisleti, os Cavalletti e os Curtis.
