Nobilissimo casato siciliano, sorto dall'unione di illustri famiglie: i Li Destri e i Nicosia. La famiglia Li Destri vuolsi originaria della Spagna. Un Antonio, con privilegio del 15 maggio 1602, ottenne il titolo di “regio cavaliere” ed il riconoscimento del blasone. Un Francesco fu proconservatore in Ganci nell'anno 1732; un Antonino fu possessore dei feudi Equila Verde, Montagna di Neglia, Ficuzza, Grotte di Famusa, San Todaro e Montagna del Corvo e Rainò, dei quali fu investito del titolo di barone con investitura 27 aprile 1776; un Michelangelo, da Ganci, ottenne con privilegio del 31 agosto 1791, il titolo di barone di Partisina; un barone Francesco-Antonio fu capitano di giustizia di Calascibetta, nel biennio 1812-13. Con decreto ministeriale del 2 aprile 1899, vennero riconosciuti i titoli di cavaliere, di barone di Rainò e di barone di Equila Verde, Montagna di Nelia, Ficuzza, Grotte di Fanusa, San Todaro e Montagna del Corvo
