Si vuole che sia originaria dalla Spagna. Un Antonio e Grifeo, con privilegio del 15 maggio 1602 ottenne la concessione del titolo di regio cavaliere e il riconoscimento dello stemma; un Francesco fu proconservatore in Gangi nel 1732; un Antonio acquistò i feudi chiamati Equila Verde, Montagna di Neglia, Ficuzza, Grotte di Famusa, San Todaro e Montagna del Corvo. Rainò e ne ottenne investitura il 27 aprile 1776; un Michelangelo con privilegio del 31 agosto 1791 ottenne il titolo di barone di Partisina; un barone Francesco Antonio fu capitano di giustizia di Calascibetta nell'anno 1812-13. Con D.M. del 2 aprile 1899 i titoli di cavaliere, di barone di Rainò e di barone di Equila Verde, Montagna di Nelia, Ficuzza, Grotte di Famusa, San Todaro e Montagna del Corvo vennero riconosciuti in persona di Antonio, di Salvatori di Antonio.
