From the General Archive of the Indies we take the following information: Francisco de L., native of Segovia, single, son of Francisco Gallegos and Isabel Sánchez undertook a trip to Popayán from Seville to take charge of the large inheritance that his brother bequeathed to him on his death on March 16, 1577 and who held the position of Secretary of the Adelantado in Popayán, we also know that he left 3 children in Spain and had two in America, which he recognized all and endowed them with length, as stated in his will. They are his weapons: In azure, a fountain with two cups, made of silver, accompanied by two stars, made of gold.
