E' accertata la loro presenza in Tortona da un membro della famiglia: Ubaldo Vicedominus che appare come teste nel documento del 30 agosto 1122 con cui il vescovo pietro cede ai consoli del Comune il "Monte degli Arimanni" con relativo castello detto poi Serravalle; Ottobono del fu Lanfranco V. e Guido Testa nell'aprile 1124 accensano a nome del monastero di S.Marziano un mulino e terreni territorio tortonese ad Allegro Busseti. Un'antica pergamena fotunosamente pervenutaci tuttora illesa di cui dà notizie il Montemerlo ed il Bottazzi elenca i V. tra le famiglie nobili ivi viventi nell'anno 1140. Vuolsi che l'Ubaldo di cui sopra nel 1158 venisse elevato al seggio consolare, epoca in cui i tortonesi ultimarono la riedificazione della città; Selavtico presenzia alla stipulazione della convenzione del 10 luglio 1183 tra il vescovo Ugo ed i consoli di Tortona in merito alla terra di Dernice per la quale si ritiene vi
