Antica ed assai nobile famiglia siciliana, originaria però della Liguria, conosciuta come Cicero, Lo Cicero o ancora più anticamente Ciccherò, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Tradizione vuole che essa abbia avuto culla in Recco da donde poi passò in Genova. Ed in quest'ultima infatti un Francesco Cicero fu anziano della Repubblica nel 1350. Un Raffaele Cicero, nel 1528, si inalbergò negli Usodimari ma già circa un secolo dopo, alcuni Cicero si portarono in Sicilia, donde diedero principio ad una nuova linea familiare. La casata risulta infatti presente in Sicilia sin dal secolo decimo settimo. Si ricordino: Giacomo notaro in Palermo, vivente tra il XVII e XVIII secolo; Arrigo, abate di S. Maria de Pedaly, fiorito sul calar del XVIII secolo; prof. Giuseppe, ingegnere catanese, fiorente nel XIX secolo; Francesco, dottore in Sacra Teologia, poeta, maestro e devoto direttore generale del Terzo
