Alte und adelige Familie, ursprünglich aus Messina namens Lo Miglio oder Milgiore. Commendator GB von Crollalanza berichtet über das Wappen dieser Familie in den Bänden seines historischen Wörterbuchs der Wappen italienischer Adels- und angesehener Familien. Laut dem Historiker Diligenti, der in seiner in Florenz veröffentlichten "Geschichte berühmter italienischer Familien, von der Sorgfalt und Kosten des Verlegers" veröffentlicht wurde, stellen wir fest, dass diese Familie rein italienischen Ursprungs ist und in verschiedenen Städten verstreut ist. Aus dem 1841 in Lodi veröffentlichten Werk „Sammlung der berühmtesten und vornehmsten Familien, die einst existierten und noch immer in Italien gedeihen“, wird erwähnt, dass die ursprünglich aus Sizilien stammende Familie trotz der Vergessenheit, in die sie geriet, die Prüfungen um die Erlangung des Adelstitels in seiner Stadt überstanden.Offensichtlich erhob sich in Sizilien ein Edelmann, der sich den Militärdiensten des Kaisers Friedrich II. hingab, nachdem er zuvor die größten Pflichten seines Landes genossen hatte.Ein Giovanni-Andrea, im
