Carlo Emanuele III, con regi diplomi in data 14 marzo 1743, concedeva i titoli di cavaliere e di nobile al dottore in ambe leggi Francesco Locci, al suo figlio ed ai discendenti dal medesimo. In seguito il nome di uno dei suoi discendenti, Don Francesco, fu compreso nell'Elenco dei Nobili e cavalieri estinti nella provincia di Lanusei, compilato, nel 1822, dal R. Prefetto e trasmesso alla R. Segreteria di stato e di guerra, in occasione della incoronazione del re Carlo Felice. Sono iscritti nell'Elenco Nobiliare coi titoli di cavaliere (m.), nobile (mf.), Don (mf.). Salvatore, di Diego, di Francesco. Altro ramo. Famiglia nobile e fiorente fino dal secolo XV, venne con gli Eroli e con gli Alberti fregiata del titolo di barone dei Castelli di Camartana e Marinata. Oggi non si hanno più notizie della famiglia.
